Jeff Bezos and former journalist Lauren Sanchez tied the knot in Italy, despite growing frustrations from the local residents over the multi-million dollar event. The wedding festivities began in Venice on Thursday, June 26, 2025, with the main event scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at a secret location.
According to CBS News, Thursday marked Bezos’ second marriage, following his divorce from philanthropist Mackenzie Scott in 2019. Sanchez, on the other hand, was previously married to Patrick Whitesell, the executive chairman of talent agency Endeavor, and their marriage also ended in 2019.
The wedding ceremony is expected to be held at San Giorgio Maggiore, as reported by CNN. San Giorgio Maggiore, one of the islands that make up Venice, is known for the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore, designed by architect Andrea Palladio in the 1500s.
A protest group called “No Space for Bezos” claimed victory this week, stating that the couple had relocated their post-wedding party planned for the weekend to a shipyard on the outskirts of Venice, rather than at the 14th-century Grande Scuola Misericordia in the center of Venice, as reported by CNN.
