President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, expressed his excitement about Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s initiative to bring hundreds of Brazilian entrepreneurs to Indonesia. This statement was made after a bilateral meeting with Lula at Palácio do Planalto in Brasília on July 9. Prabowo warmly welcomed the plan and emphasized the potential to boost cooperation between the two countries, particularly in trade and investment. During the meeting, he highlighted the common interests and vast potential for economic growth that Indonesia and Brazil share, citing their large populations and rich natural resources. Prabowo admired Brazil’s advancements in agriculture and bioenergy, expressing Indonesia’s interest in learning from their experiences. He also appreciated Lula’s support for Indonesia’s plan to send more technical teams to study Brazil’s innovations. Apart from his visit to Brasília, Prabowo attended the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, where Lula announced his upcoming visit to Indonesia in October. Prabowo concluded by mentioning a grand birthday celebration for Lula in Jakarta to mark his 80th birthday in October.
