President Prabowo Subianto recently visited former President Joko Widodo at his residence in Solo to provide updates on his recent state visits to countries such as Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Belgium, and France. During the visit, Prabowo shared the breakthroughs achieved during his diplomatic tour, especially in relation to the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) after a decade of negotiations. Accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Prabowo was warmly welcomed by Jokowi and his wife Iriana upon arrival.
The meeting between the two leaders was described as cordial and relaxed, where they discussed various current issues and highlights from Prabowo’s 15-day diplomatic tour. Prabowo expressed gratitude for the positive outcomes of the tour, mentioning the potential trade opportunities with countries like Belarus. He emphasized Indonesia’s commitment to neutrality and peaceful cooperation on the global stage, showcasing the nation’s acceptance and strong international standing.
During the meeting, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Angga Raka Prabowo were also present. Prabowo reiterated Indonesia’s non-aligned stance, highlighting the country’s reputation for not aligning with any political blocs but engaging in economic partnerships like joining BRICS and applying for OECD membership. The commitment to respecting all countries, seeking friendship with every nation, and avoiding interference in domestic affairs was emphasized as key principles guiding Indonesia’s foreign relations.
