The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, embarked on a journey to Bandung, West Java on Wednesday evening via the Whoosh high-speed train, accompanied by members of the public from Halim Station in Jakarta. President Prabowo arrived at the station at approximately 7:45 p.m. local time, dressed in a cream-colored outfit and a matching jacket with a navy blue cap. His presence sparked surprise and excitement among commuters as he passed through the station, waving to onlookers and warmly engaging with the crowd.
Before boarding the train, President Prabowo took the time to pose for photos with the Whoosh crew. The high-speed train departed for Tegalluar Station in Bandung at 8:00 p.m. President Prabowo is set to inaugurate the 2025 Indonesian Convention on Science, Technology, and Industry (KSTI) at the Sasana Budaya Ganesa (Sabuga), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) from August 7 to 9. He will deliver the keynote address at the convention, alongside Nobel Laureate Konstantin Novoselov and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto.
With the theme “Economic Growth and Equity Through Mastery of Science and Technology,” KSTI 2025 aims to be a significant strategic forum on both the national and international levels. This event is expected to bring together key figures in the fields of science, technology, and industry to discuss ways to promote economic growth and equity through advancements in these areas.
