President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, recently attended the Singapore National Day Parade, coinciding with the city-state’s 60th Independence Day celebrations. The annual National Day in Singapore is observed on August 9 to mark the country’s independence in 1965. President Prabowo’s Presidential Aircraft landed at Paya Lebar Airbase, where he was welcomed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. The President’s entourage then proceeded to the hotel where he would be staying, and the lobby was filled with Indonesian citizens, diaspora members, students, and officials from the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore eagerly waiting to greet their Head of State. President Prabowo took the time to personally shake hands with everyone present, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. His presence was received with cheers and applause, showcasing the strong bond between Indonesia and Singapore, as well as his approachability towards citizens abroad. This visit not only strengthened the ties between the two countries but also demonstrated the President’s genuine connection with the Indonesian community in Singapore.
