During Peruvian President Dina Boluarte’s official visit on Monday (11/8), President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto reminisced about the special moment when he was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Sun of Peru in 2024. Prabowo expressed his gratitude for this highest honor from Peru, which he sees as a tribute to the entire Indonesian nation and a symbol of the strong diplomatic ties between the two countries since 1975.
In return for this prestigious award, Prabowo presented Boluarte with Indonesia’s highest honor, the Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna, in recognition of her valuable contributions to strengthening bilateral friendship and cooperation. This reciprocal gesture further solidified their commitment to deepening the partnership between Indonesia and Peru for mutual benefit.
During the visit, both governments signed cooperation agreements in various areas such as narcotics eradication, combating illicit trade, food security, mining, energy transition, fisheries, and defense. These agreements demonstrate the commitment of both countries to working together to address common challenges and opportunities for development.
