Aryana and Wirotirta, two young Pacu Jalur performers, were filled with joy and excitement as they participated in the Independence Day celebrations at Merdeka Palace. It was Indonesia’s 80th anniversary, and they were thrilled to have the opportunity to perform in front of President Prabowo Subianto. Dressed in traditional Malay attire, the children’s synchronized and energetic movements captivated the audience, bringing the pride of regional culture to the national stage. President Prabowo’s kind gesture of clasping their hands after the performance left the children feeling proud and moved. The atmosphere was festive, with cheers and applause filling the palace grounds. The celebration also featured a pencak silat troupe demonstrating martial arts skills, action star Iko Uwais performing traditional Indonesian self-defense art, and the graceful Tari Payung Merah Putih (Red-and-White Umbrella Dance) enhancing the celebratory mood of Independence Day. The children expressed their gratitude and well-wishes for President Prabowo, conveying their innocent and heartfelt appreciation for the unforgettable experience.
