President Prabowo Subianto expressed his gratitude to all officers and participants who took part in the 80th Independence Day ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. He commended their discipline, order, and enthusiasm displayed throughout the day. Prabowo emphasized the pride he felt in witnessing the orderly and spirited execution of the ceremony. He specifically instructed Ceremony Commander Colonel Slamet to convey his personal thanks to each participant for their dedication.
Following the president’s instructions, 80% of the invitations were made available to the general public. The day’s events included a Flag and Proclamation Procession from the National Monument to the Palace in a royal carriage, as well as a People’s Festival featuring cultural performances and complimentary culinary offerings. The celebrations concluded with a fireworks display around the National Monument.
The festivities for Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day will culminate in the United Independence Carnival on August 17, 2025. This carnival will span from the National Monument along Jalan MH Thamrin to the HI Roundabout and Semanggi, marking the pinnacle of the commemorative events. It was a day filled with pride, discipline, and spirit, as Indonesians across the nation celebrated their independence.
