The celebration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day at the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta on Aug. 17 was a joyous event filled with enthusiasm. A cultural parade brought citizens from various regions together towards the State Palace, where heartfelt prayers and hopes were expressed for President Prabowo Subianto and the future of the nation.
Aryati, a resident of Karanganyar Subdistrict in Sawah Besar District, expressed her gratitude for being a part of the parade. She was thrilled to participate in the event and hoped that Indonesia’s independence would lead to progress and prosperity for all Indonesian people. Aryati also offered a special prayer for President Prabowo’s health and for the peace and harmony of all Indonesian citizens.
Another participant echoed Aryati’s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of national unity and positive changes that benefit the people of Indonesia. She stressed the need to avoid conflicts between ethnic groups and religions, emphasizing the significance of brotherhood.
Satim, a resident of Kampung Rawa in Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, also shared his happiness and pride in joining the celebration. He expressed his hope for greater success, progress, prosperity, and welfare for Indonesia, as well as the need for strong leadership that protects and serves the people.
For these citizens, being present at Monas during this historic moment was more than just a celebration—it was an expression of love for the nation and a collective hope for lasting peace and prosperity.
