Samarinda, Busam.ID – Wali Kota Samarinda Andi Harun’s plan to issue a Circular Letter (SE) regarding the prohibition of Mini Gas Stations operations has received full support from Samarinda residents. Even Busam.id’s Instagram was flooded with support for the SE not to be postponed any longer, but to be issued immediately.
One Samarinda resident named Suntoro expressed his support for the SE. “I personally strongly agree because several times fires in Samarinda were caused by Mini Gas Stations, especially when it resulted in casualties,” said Suntoro to Busam.ID.
Community leader Mugirejo, Setiyono revealed that the number of Mini Gas Stations in Samarinda is currently widespread, with rapid growth, on the other hand, they are also traders but the risks are detrimental to Samarinda’s residents.
“If it continues to proliferate in Samarinda, the negative effects if a fire caused by Mini Gas Stations in Samarinda would greatly impact the community,” said Setiyono.
He mentioned that law enforcement in Samarinda must be intensified and if necessary, they should be permanently closed. “Personally and representing a few residents, I agree that Mini Gas Stations should be closed, in addition, private cars used to top up fuel at gas stations are increasing, causing longer queues at gas stations,” he said.
Meanwhile, one of the fuel sellers who uses Mini Gas Stations, Indo Lebi admitted that he could only surrender if the SE is issued by the Mayor of Samarinda. “Well, if it is banned, then there is no need for Mini Gas Stations business anymore,” said Indo.
He admitted to buying the Mini Gas Station machine for Rp 24 million in cash. “Whatever it is, if it comes from the Mayor’s order, as ordinary people where else can we go, if it is closed, income will definitely decrease,” he said.
As for another fuel seller who preferred not to be named, he hoped that the policy could be considered.
“Please consider it, because the income from Mini Gas Stations helps our income, if it is gone, our income will definitely decrease, especially since we still rent a house for Rp 57 million per year,” he said.
Regarding the fire issue, he denied that it was due to the Mini Gas Station factor but rather the negligence of people. He also appealed to the Mayor to reconsider the SE policy. (zul) Editor: M Khaidir
